Sprint: This Is Now

"What does 'now' look like?" This was what the digital team at Sprint thought when they we're developing the campaign to new card.

I think it's a very clever and simple idea to promote a communications card, that's all around the Now idea.

Cumpler

E-commerce websites are getting flashier and flashier, and fortunately also the user experience keeps improving with the time. One example is Crumpler's website.

I like it because it looks like a real Crumpler shop, with the bags displayed on the shelves and a touch of sense of humour in the copy that really connects you with the soul of the Australian brand. And also because I own one of those bags for my macbook ;)

Pimm's: It's Sunshine O'clock

Pimm's launched this new service, which is at the heart of an integrated media partnership with Time Out magazine, that tells users what time their local pubs and parks will be at their sunniest. 'It's Sunshine O'clock', which can be found on Timeout.com/London, operates via a postcode search which then gives hours of sunshine and pub reviews.

Nokia: Face The Task

Nokia has launched a new promotion for the Nokia N96 special edition; they’ve even launched a new website for the occasion called Face The Task which is for highlighting the Nokia N96 basically.

Two points with this new website, first off for a donation of €759, you not only get the Nokia N96 special edition but will also be helping the WWF project which is to save red pandas in Nepal.

Secondly, the Face The Task website is worth a quick view for the high kicking girl alone, some good moves there. As far as we understand it there are to be 96 of these special edition Nokia N96 handsets specially packaged and up for grabs by forking over the donation.

Converse: Spelling Bee

Continuing a year of frantic activity to mark their hundredth anniversary, Converse has launched an elaborate web campaign featuring more than 20 microsites.

You start clicking at www.thisistheindexpage.com, and let the mentalism commence. All the sites are linked to together via a neat little interface at the bottom of the screen, meaning you can scroll through such wonders as outofyourleaguegirl.com (a video-based site in which a hottie gives advice on dating to hapless men) and iseverythinggoingtobeokay.com (yes, apparently.) Perhaps the most cunning/pointless exercise is over at www.conversespellingbee.com, where visitors are asked to type the word ‘ludicrous’ into google.com. At the top of the results is a paid advertising slot announcing that ‘ludicrous is correct’, and linking to www.whatareacodeisroundtwo.com for more fun and games. The list of sites is epic, so rather than us ploughing through them all here we recommend you go let your own fingers do the walking. Be warned though, it’s pretty addictive.

Zoomii: The "Real" Online Bookstore

Zoomii is a pleasantly surprising service that combines the best of both worlds. Launched to the public earlier this week, Zoomii is one great bookstore browser.

You can zoom in and out of bookshelves or pan around to navigate the service. The site design feels just like you're browsing a bookshelf at any bookstore except the books are facing cover-forward instead of spine-out. To keep up with the feel of a bookstore, books are organized by author and you can also compare book sizes to get a feel for how big or small a book is.

All in all, Zoomii can help enhance your bookstore shopping experience.

NIKE: PHOTOiD

NIKE PHOTOiD is a brand new mobile application which allows users to customise their own set of sneakers according to their physical surroundings. You simply take a picture of something on your camera phone (it could be anything from a piece of graffiti to an ice cream sundae) and then send this pic off to a shortcode via MMS. The NIKEiD website then picks out the two strongest colours from your image and uses them to colour your custom sneakers. Within a minute, you are sent a link with your design superimposed over the original source of pantone inspiration.

You can then save this image as wallpaper for your mobile, send it to a mate or, by entering the unique DESIGNiD at NIKEiD.com, link directly to your design to complete and actually purchase the sneakers.

The service has launched in nine European territories: the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway.

Sixt: Fake Website

What’s special about this campaign is that it directs you to the website of a fictional car hire company that claims to be cheaper and better than Sixt.

One click on the menu and the whole site falls down. We’ve seen many computer companies fight it out in ads. So to use a fake website is both interesting and unusual.

EA: Sims Carnival

EA has launched Sims Carnival, a collection of Flash-based games that can be played, modified, and shared with friends. Users are free to play pre-designed games, or to create their own. To celebrate the launch, Sims Carnival has also opened a “Galactic Game Challenge” that will award the best designer a cash prize.

The site offers a number of options that allow users to build their own games using tools that require no programming experience. Users can utilize a wizard that streamlines the creation process down to a few simple questions (What genre? How many enemies?, etc.). They can also use the Swapper, which allows users to exchange a game’s default images for their own.

New Zealand Book Council: Read At Work

Nowadays people spend too much time in front of computers in a way that they don't have time to read. New Zealand Book Council tries to change this by making this web-site and disguise books as every day office computer documents.

I don't think this is the best way to read books (powerpoint documents are just ugly) but it's a great and simple idea to disguise things you don't want others to see at work.

Alz: Forget

It's great when you have original content and interaction in a traditional media, in this case, banners.

Good way to show the message. Link

A mobile men's toilet which combines the usual facilities with video game interactivity is proving a winning novelty in Belgium.

The booth was developed by two Belgian beer fans who used their skills in software development and engineering to conjure up 'Place to Pee'.

IdScan: Coat Check with High-Tech

Who hasn’t checked their coat at a discotheque and worried about losing the claim ticket? Idscan aims to put those worries to rest with a biometric cloakroom system that it claims is a world's first.

Cloakscan records a customer’s thumb print via a small scanner, while a digital camera records the transaction. When customers return and touch the thumb-scanner once more, their pictures show up on a monitor, allowing the cloakroom attendant to verify their identity and quickly see where their valuables have been stored. Idscan explains that Cloakscan eases stress among customers and staff alike. Customers needn’t fear that a dropped claim ticket will be found and redeemed by someone else, while staff can use Cloakscan’s touchscreen monitor to log checked items faster and more accurately.

Reasons To Celebrate

In this post I'm not going to talk about a great design or a beautiful interface. This one is just about the idea.

Reasons 2 Celebrate. Just enter a date and you'll receive the next date to celebrate.

Now you have always a reason to celebrate something as long as you have creativity.
